Editor: Controlled Fission is a data extraction and organization tool. Two versions are available :
* Controlled Fission Dev (developer), used to Create, test and run data transformation definitions (.CFD files)
* Controlled Fission, standard user version, executes definitions created with Controlled Fission Dev
The standard version has most of the capabilities of the "Dev" version, but doesn't allow (for example) creation of new nodes. The Controlled Fission Dev installation also contains CF.exe, a command line version of Controlled Fission.
Controlled Fission scans input from :
* web pages
* email messages
* files
The user can define actions to send output to :
* database records
* files
The basic sequence of operations is :
* create or open a definition,
* run.
The user has several options regarding Controlled Fission definitions, also referred to as CFD files :
* use an existing CFD file,
* use a existing CFD file with some modification,
* create a CFD file from scratch.
